Just-Care Foundation | practice what you preach

Over the years we've had a lot of fun and positive feedback on our Just-Care initiatives. Now we're taking it to another level. We are officially an ambassador for Oxfam Novib, we support their microfinance efforts and help entrepeneurs in starting up their business.

But Just-Care isn't just about giving financial aid. On the contrary, we pride ourselves in actually "practicing what we preach". Whether we're running the 10K KiKa Run, gathering presents for Christmas for the Dutch Council for Refugees or providing a schoolbus for children in Bali, we always keep our Just-Care vision in mind: "Practice what you preach!".

And to make sure our Just-Message is clear, we have created a song which you can download right here. All proceeds will go to the Just-Care Foundation.

$3.600,- Is the yearly school supply budget for the Lakay project. This money is spent on maintenance, books, sewing machines and other necessary supplies.

After the devastating earthquake, they'd lost all their supplies and had to start from scratch. For this they needed an $8.000,- investment to get the project back on its feet.

The Just-Care foundation's principle: "practice what you preach" enforces an assertive attitude towards aiding a certain cause. Yet in this case, there was no effective way for us to personally help out the project. This is why we chose to support the project financially. This was the first time that the Just-Care foundation donated money and not knowledge or supplies.

We organized a Fifa World Cup toto in 2010 to help out with the $8.000,- investment. For every person joining our competition, the Just-Care foundation donated a certain amount of money to the Lakay Project. At the end of the World Cup, our toto winners received an iPad, and the Lakay Project received a €5.000,- donation.

The donation was spent on the following supplies:

  • (exercise) books, pens and pencils
  • chalk boards
  • blank paper
  • sewing machines
  • sewing threads
  • cloth
  • tools
  • building material (wood/iron/cement etc.)
